Yesterday, we spent the day in Brussels.
Jen took us to the Atomium, a large structure built for the 1958 World's Fair. We got to go inside and ride an elevator all of the way to the top. The view was really wonderful and we were able to see all around.
Next, we had lunch at an Italian cafe. In Europe, dining al fresco is a real treat. It's so nice to be outside, enjoy the weather, and take the time to have a leisurely meal without feeling rushed. After our delicious meal (I had pizza Margherita), Ben and I went on a ride on a carousel!
We caught a tour bus and went to see the sites of Brussels. Ben and I listened to Lady Gaga and ducked every time the bus got too close to the tree branches.
On our last full day in Brussels, Mom and I decided that we needed to get some true Belgian chocolate. Aunt Jen took us to Leonidas, a fancy chocolate shop. I tried candied orange dipped in dark chocolate, a dark chocolate truffle, and a white and hazelnut chocolate. Yum!
Seven year old Ben helped make dinner last night. He's quite the little chef... so adorable.
We're on our way to Paris in just a few hours. I'm so excited to see the beautiful city! It's one of those places people that people always talk about and dream about seeing... I just can't believe I'm actually going there!
